Delighted to announce my new novel 'Daughters of the Silk Road'. The story begins in Venice in 1441 when a family of merchant explorers, led by Niccolo dei Conti, return to Venice after twenty five years travelling across the East. They bring with them a valuable cargo of spices, silk and porcelain from China. Most prized amongst their possessions is a vase, painted with an angry dragon, snaking its way around the centre - the symbol of good fortune.
As the family settle into their new home, their father is called away. His two children Maria and Daniele find themselves in terrible danger. Maria is determined to protect her brother at whatever cost to herself, and guard the precious vase.
Meanwhile in London in 2015 single mother Miranda is struggling to make ends meet and build a new life for herself and daughter Georgie. When Miranda meets the charming but mysterious Charles, she is intrigued. Could he be her second chance at love? And why is he so fascinated by the old vase sitting on her hall table…
